A leading figure in Japan’s club scene from its early days to the present, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the country's house music landscape. His influence extends across generations, inspiring many of today’s prominent young and mid-career DJs. Throughout his career, he has dedicated himself to digging for the latest tracks, captivating dance floors with his unparalleled sense of groove. Even now, he continues to push the boundaries of contemporary dance music and DJing styles, earning a dedicated following both in Japan and internationally. Actively performing overseas, he remains a key force in the global electronic music scene. Recognised as one of the most influential artists in the field, he has gained the trust of industry legends such as Richie Hawtin, known as the "Techno Scientist," and Grammy-winning artist Dubfire. Many world-renowned DJs seek him out whenever they visit Japan. Beyond his past contributions and cultural impact, he remains highly active—celebrating his 40th anniversary as a professional DJ this year.

During their youth, they dedicated themselves to competitive sports, achieving the national championship and a triple crown in high school. Transitioning into the world of Breaking, a new Olympic sport, they began their career as a dancer. As a DJ, they trained under Tatsuo Sunaga, mastering vinyl records and performing across genres such as House, Techno, Afro, African, Tribal, Japanese music, and Jazz. Expanding their reach, they have performed in eight cities worldwide. In recent years, they have been actively involved in social innovation efforts aimed at revitalising and developing Tokyo’s live entertainment and nighttime economy, working in collaboration with both public and private sectors. SORA

Originally from Nagaoka, Niigata, now based in Tokyo. Made her DJ debut in November 2023 and quickly established herself, performing at 11 events within the first month and playing weekly ever since. Actively based in Tokyo, she brings a warm and gentle touch to her sets. Specialising in R&B (Japanese & Korean R&B), J-Pop, K-Pop, and City Pop, she delivers groovy and soothing sounds across a variety of venues, including hotel lounges, bars, cafés, and izakayas.

DJ EMMA

Started DJing in 1985, making a name by hosting numerous successful parties across Tokyo’s nightclub scene. In 1994, he signed with GOLD, where he held a residency until its closure. His dynamic and aggressive performances dominated Saturday nights, establishing his presence as a defining figure among Tokyo’s nightlife enthusiasts. In 1995, he expanded beyond DJing into music production, forming MALAWI ROCKS with Taro Kawauchi. That same year, he released the first EMMA HOUSE mix CD, which became one of Japan’s most iconic mix CDs. The album captured the essence of the dancefloor with its meticulous 24-bit mastering—pushing the boundaries of what a mix CD could be. Following the success of EMMA HOUSE, he embarked on a 15-city nationwide tour alongside MIXED BY DJ EMMA vol.2, released two years in a row under HEARTBEAT. Renowned for seamlessly blending cutting-edge sounds with top-tier DJ techniques, he is hailed as the King of House. Beyond DJing, he continues to push the scene forward with releases under his production unit NUDE and has also performed on MISIA’s national tour, solidifying his status as a leading force in Japan’s dance music industry.

Director / DJ Works as a radio director for programs including TOKYO M.A.A.D SPIN. As a DJ, he performs at various events in Tokyo on an irregular basis.

TATSUO SUNAGA (sunaga t experience)

Sunaga t experience = The solo project of Tatsuo Sunaga, encompassing his work as a DJ and producer. As a DJ, he has performed in all 47 prefectures of Japan and has actively contributed to music exchange between Japan and Nordic countries in collaboration with embassies. He has also played internationally across Europe, Asia, and the United States. His jazz compilation series "Tatsuo Sunaga no Yoru Jazz" has released over 20 editions. In addition to numerous remix works, he has released six albums under his solo project Sunaga t experience. As an advocate for vinyl culture, he runs his own label, DISC MINOR, dedicated to vinyl-only releases. Beyond DJing, he is involved in music branding for restaurants, streaming DJ performances, and serves as the Ashikaga Future Support Ambassador for his hometown, Ashikaga City in Tochigi Prefecture.

須永辰緒(sunaga t experience) ’25

YEOMIN

Originally from South Korea, debuted as a DJ in 2024, and is currently active in the Tokyo area. Specialises in creating a chill yet groovy vibe with R&B, Hip-Hop, and Soul—perfect for urban bars, cafés, and lounge settings. Currently performing at Sequence Hotel in Shibuya while also taking part in Urban Wave, a music event in central Tokyo that revolves around Hip-Hop and R&B.

WASEI JJ CHIKADA

Started his career in 1992 at J-Trip Bar, becoming a regular DJ at iconic venues such as Nishiazabu Yellow, Shibaura O Bar, and Yokohama Gram Slam. From the golden era of clubs in the '90s to the present day, he has been a key figure in shaping Japan’s dance music scene. As a sound producer, he has designed music for HUGE, a company operating 26 restaurants in Japan and abroad, including Estnation, Bella Vista Onomichi, Daikanyama Hacienda Del Cielo, and Rigoletto. His work also extends into anime and production, having composed numerous remixes and original tracks, including the soundtrack for Serial Experiments Lain, in which he also voiced a DJ character. In February 2025, his latest release, Cyberia Layer:05, was released as a double 12-inch LP via Disk Union.

Tokyo-born DJ Driven by a deep curiosity for music from around the world, he began his journey as a DJ. With a selection ranging from Organic House and Deep House to Ambient and Electronica, he strives to create an immersive and comfortable atmosphere through his sets.

RIHO ASAEDA

A Tokyo-based DJ and producer, actively performing at various venues, from intimate spaces to major clubs like WOMB and VENT, while also organising his own events. With a deep and unique selection centred around house music, his playstyle is characterised by intricate sound weaving and refined musical storytelling. His lounge DJ sets at Sequence Hotel Miyashita Park and Shibuya Stream Hotel have earned him high praise, attracting a diverse audience with his sophisticated style. In 2022, he fully launched his career as a producer, crafting deep dance music infused with ethereal melodies and lush synth waves. In 2024, he performed at ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event) in the Netherlands, further proving his talent internationally by securing bookings at a local restaurant-bar during the same period. With his diverse activities and distinctive sound, he is a rising artist to watch, set for even greater success in the future.

RIHO ASAEDA

YAMARIKI

Launched his signature party UP BEAT! in 2002, now celebrating its 23rd anniversary. In 2015, he founded HOUSETRIBE@WOMB, bringing global artists such as Erick Morillo, ATFC, DAVID PENN, THE CUBE GUYS, Harry Romero, Prok & Fitch, CRUSY, and CASSIMM to Japan. He has also supported legendary acts like Roger Sanchez and Mark Knight and was the opening act for Eric Prydz’s first-ever performance in Japan in 2023, earning high praise for his DJing skills. In 2018, he established HOUSETRIBE RECORDINGS, releasing 60 titles annually. As Japan’s only house music-dedicated label featuring international artists, it has grown significantly, hosting an annual showcase at ADE. In 2024, the label expanded to Ibiza, and in 2025, it will launch the HOUSE TRIBE channel on Ibiza’s MOVE IBIZA radio, further accelerating its global reach. With a portfolio of 120 events per year, label management, international tours, and a DJ/DTM school, his influence spans multiple fields. In 2022, he took on the role of sound producer for BRAND SHIBUYA, Japan’s first house music-exclusive club, continuing to push the house music scene forward.

Her talent blossomed early in her career, quickly earning her performances at major clubs across Tokyo. In October 2021, she was selected to play at the reception party for Porsche Experience Center Tokyo, the brand’s ninth location worldwide and second in Asia after Shanghai. Her versatility spans luxury restaurants, fashion shows, and beyond. At the age of 18, she moved to New Zealand alone, later graduating from a local university. The diversity she experienced there shaped her unique ability to connect with a wide range of audiences, resulting in her signature groove-driven DJ style. One of her standout features is her innovative approach—blending live piano performance with DJing. Embracing the concept of MOMO HOUSE, she continues to establish herself as a truly distinctive and unparalleled artist.

Started DJing in 2024. Having been deeply influenced by classical music, ballet, and street dance since childhood, she was drawn to club culture, which ultimately inspired her to start DJing. This background is reflected in her DJ style—not only spinning the latest house music but also blending old-school dance classics, rare grooves, and jazz, creating a nostalgic yet soulful atmosphere. Currently, she performs at clubs like ZERO TOKYO and various DJ bars across the city, while also actively sharing her music on Instagram and TikTok.

KAN TAKAGI

In the early 1980s, participated in Tokyo Bravo. In 1985, starred in director Makoto Tezuka's "Legend of the Stardust Brothers." In 1986, formed "Tiny Punks" with Hiroshi Fujiwara. In 1988, co-founded Japan's first club music label, "MAJOR FORCE," alongside Hiroshi Fujiwara, Gota Yashiki, KUDO, and Toshio Nakanishi.

YOKE aka DJ REDBLOOD

A Tokyo-born MC, DJ, and producer. Owner of Jimbocho RECORD BAR JBC. Starting his career in the early '90s, he made his major debut in 2004 as the leader of the hip-hop band GOOSE BUMPS with the album GOOSE BUMPS 1 under R&C. In 2006, he launched his solo career with KRUSHGROOVE1977 and has since released three solo albums along with numerous production works. He has also appeared in a rap commercial for Ryukakusan Direct and has been a DJ for the ULTIMATE MC BATTLE national finals—Japan’s top battle MC competition—for over a decade.

MIKAGE PROJECT

Koki Sato (Shakuhachi) ・ Sho Asano (Tsugaru Shamisen/Vocals) ・ Takashi Honma (25-string Koto) A Minyo (Japanese folk music) reformation project that arranges and composes folk songs with a modern sensibility, passing them on to the next generation. In 2023, they made their international debut in Thailand and Malaysia as part of the Japan-ASEAN 50th Anniversary of Friendship and Cooperation initiative. Their global expansion continues in 2024 with a solo concert in New York in August, a performance at Otakon 2024, North America’s largest anime festival, and a concert in Mexico in October. Looking ahead to 2025, they plan to further broaden their reach with performances in Peru, South Korea, Brazil, and China. To date, they have released five EPs and a full album. In February of this year, they digitally released "Yagibushi Rock’a’Joint".

MIKAGE PROJECT

TABARU

Active across multiple fields, she has worked as a music program MC on internet TV and as a radio personality. She has released three albums, including the full-length album Emotion, as well as a cover album. She once ventured solo to New York, where she performed at the legendary Apollo Theater, captivating a wide audience. Every Saturday at 10 PM, she hosts the radio program Love Emotion, broadcast on 101 community FM stations nationwide. Her released songs have been featured in various productions, including the Japan-China co-produced drama Toubou Ryouri-nin Watanabe, the theme song for TBS’s White Sacas winter event at Akasaka Sacas, the ending theme for Fuji TV’s music program TUNE, and the ending theme for the variety show Majo ni Iwaretai Yoru. She continues to expand her reach through tie-in projects, live performances, and festival appearances. With her naturally transparent voice and exceptional vocal talent, TABARU creates a world of music uniquely her own.

Rek

A female rapper and singer from Adachi, Tokyo. With a delicate singing voice and powerful rap delivery, she carves out a unique world as a Modern Warrior. Her debut single, TOKYO SUNSET, charted upon release, and her collaborative EP Tokachan Recchan with rapper Tokage gained significant attention. Her style—like a hidden blade in the quiet—continues to evolve, making her an artist to watch.

YOKO MASAYAMA

Born on July 24th in Takarazuka, Hyogo Prefecture. During university, formed the organic soul unit "BardSyrup." Recognized by percussionist Jeffrey Haynes (known for supporting artists like Cassandra Wilson and Pat Metheny). In 2013, released the album "Yoko Masayama" under the name "Yoko Masayama." Contributed music and appeared as a singer in director Ryuichi Hiroki's film "Transparent Polar Bear." Received high praise from radio professionals for the subsequent 2nd album, "Sing and Sparkle: Songs of Departure." Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, released the 3rd album "The Song for 7 Days." Characterized by catchy lyrics and melodies rooted in jazz, with elements of Japanese popular songs, her music expresses a nostalgic yet innovative world of song. Emphasizing the significance of live performances, she captivates audiences with her unique and unrestricted expression, solidifying her status as a rare and captivating artist.
