World-Renowned Architect Shohei Shigematsu to Design the Venue for CSW2026!
26.03.03
Event Dates: April 17 (Fri) – April 29 (Wed, Public Holiday), 2026 (13 Days) A Massive “3D Swirling Indigo Installation” to Transform the Venue.
We are pleased to announce that world-renowned architect Shohei Shigematsu has been appointed as the venue designer for CRAFT SAKE WEEK 2026 with OMAKASE byGMO at ROPPONGI HILLS.
One of the core attractions of CRAFT SAKE WEEK is its unique spatial design, which draws inspiration from Japanese culture and the four seasons. In past editions, the venue has been brought to life through extraordinary installations by leading next-generation architects, featuring themes such as “Sakura” (Cherry Blossoms), “Bamboo,” “Rope,” “Masu” (Sake Cups), and last year’s “Muneage” (Ridge-pole Raising).

This Year’s Theme: “UTAGE” (The Banquet)
Marking its landmark 10th anniversary, this year’s theme is “UTAGE”—an expression of the vibrant energy and festive atmosphere of a Hare (extraordinary) occasion, created by the connections between people through Japanese sake.
The design features three large, arcing “curtains” suspended from the roof of the Roppongi Hills Arena, forming a dynamic and open space with a three-dimensional swirl. We invite you to immerse yourself in this special experience—savoring premium sake while surrounded by the lively spirit of “Utage” woven into the very fabric of the venue.
