CSW 2025 Architects Announced!
MOUNT FUJI ARCHITECTS STUDIO, Led by Masahiro Harada and Mao Harada, to Design the Venue.
25.03.12

From April 18 (Fri) to April 29 (Tue, Holiday), an extraordinary “Mune-age” structure will take centre stage during the 12 day event.
We are excited to announce that the venue design for CRAFT SAKE WEEK 2025 at ROPPONGI HILLS will be created by MOUNT FUJI ARCHITECTS STUDIO, the renowned architectural firm led by Masahiro Harada and Mao Harada!
One of the defining features of CRAFT SAKE WEEK is its uniquely designed spaces inspired by Japanese culture and the beauty of the four seasons. In past years, themes such as “Sakura” (cherry blossoms), “Take” (bamboo), “Nawa (hemp Rope),” and “Masu” (traditional wooden sake boxes) have been brought to life through spectacular installations by world-class architects.
This Year’s Theme: “Mune-age”
“Mune-age” (roof-raising ceremony) is a traditional Japanese ritual marking the completion of a building’s framework, where the final ridge beam is set in place. On this special day, local Shinto priests and shrine representatives are invited to perform a blessing ceremony.
To express gratitude for the safe completion of the structure, a celebration is held—one that traditionally includes sake. Inspired by this deep-rooted custom, we have chosen “Mune-age” as this year’s theme.
This concept will be reinterpreted in a contemporary way, creating a dynamic installation where the wooden structures appear to float in the sky, utilising cutting-edge technology. We invite you to experience this awe-inspiring space firsthand at the venue.
